The purchasing department, in response to the inventory control system, is responsible to avoid shortages in stocks and supplies by quickly responding to any need that may arise through multi sourcing of different suppliers. Another role of the purchasing department is to guarantee profitability by availing the top buying conditions in the market and establishing pre approval of best vendors for the company. The purchasing department’s functions extent to track the purchasing order until delivery where final checking on invoices and cost are made and evaluated.
